Not bad at all! March 26, 2010 Chris Clarke (Hendersonville, TN USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Our nonprofit professional theater company needed a pair of benches for the set of a play called "Secrets of a Soccer Mom." These arrived quickly, went together easily and stood up well to the demands of the performance. Several audience members, including an engineer, looked them over admiringly, and one offered to buy them.
When assembling one of these kits, be careful to set each and all screws carefully, or the bench will be wobbly. When everything's tight, they feel rock solid, even with three adults sitting on a 6-foot bench.
Great Bench Kit! February 15, 2010 Terry Lesh (Cottage Grove, OR) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I made a small (24" long) warming bench for sitting next to our new Tilikivi fireplace using cherry 2 x 4's finished with rubbing lacquer. The 2 x 4 Basic bench ends are very sturdy and attractive. The green color is nice, but I sprayed them flat black with all purpose paint to match our other fireplace accessories. High quality product.
turned out great. February 1, 2010 Sherri Thomas (melbourne, FL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
we wanted a small bench on our front porch to just look cute and to sit a pot of tulips on to add joy upon entering the front of our home. this was perfect, not too big but very sturdy and strong if we wanted to move it to the back porch for more use. did not want to spend a lot of money so this was perfect for a 'look' that we wanted. turned out great. the treated wood was around 10.00 and we painted it to match the house so it was a perfect fit for us. thanks.
Great product September 17, 2009 Wayne W. Andersson 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Two years ago I bought both the leg for the table and the two benches. I then added the 4x2's as directed and came out with an 8' long table and benches. I had planned on making it only 6' long but after seeing it I decided to keep it at 8'. At a family gathering my son, who has five children had them all sitting on one side while his wife and him sat on the other. He commented, "Dad, this is really great, I can sit all the kids on one side and not have them crowed and still have lots of room for Lisa, and I on the other, I should get one of these for our cabin".
One small flaw was when we had some people over and were using the benches around the camp fire, several people of large proportion were sitting on one bench and one of them shifted their weight sideways and the legs on the bench broke. I had to get a new set and make a new bench. This time I made two 4' benches instead of one lone 8'er.
I would recommend this product to anyone looking for good solid back yard furniture.
TIP: Use 2x6' instead of 2x4's to had less cracks and a more uniform top on the tables and benches.
Great Buy! March 5, 2009 Holden (Richmond,VA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Simple as it can get! A couple straight cuts of some 2x4's, screw boards in place and you have a nice bench. Put it together in about 30 minutes. Really cost effective way to get a nice bench for your deck or just for hanging out in the backyard.
