Goes together very easy. Good for getting backyard "things" out of the weather and making the yard/house look more organized. I have a few Suncast Storage Sheds also, and they all will solve your problem. This is easier to put together if u care about such things. I may buy another.

The exterior deck box is poorly designed and the fittings that hold the sides to each other and the bottom are inadequate. I had to separately purchase strapss to keep the unit from pushing out and coming apart.

If you are looking to put your shoes and stuff inside, this is probably not a good idea. We got this as a gift from friends at work and we put this in the corner of the living room, near the door. We put all the shoes and socks inside and then it was extremely comfortable to sit on this box to wear your shoes. But as time passed by, the box developed a weird smell, due to the shoes.
I think it will be a good idea to put stuff like books, toys, your unused luggage, rarely used items, this is pretty good.
This is not space saving, as it is quite big.
Also, when you sit on this box, it is a bit taller than you need it for wearing socks. (you would like to put your feet up on the box to wear your socks).
If you fear that this will crack due to dropping temperatures, it does not. It survived a whole winter in Northern Minnesota and is pretty solid.
We would have liked something like http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CFOW3O?ie=UTF8&tag=14days-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000CFOW3O , which is smaller and also shorter. Remember this is only a storage compartment and has no seat.
The box is pretty solid to withstand an adult of 150 pounds sitting on it. Picture where you want to place this box before you order and then select the size accordingly. Not ideal for a gift.
