Love this chair September 7, 2010 Janice L. Miller (Chicago) Strathwood Anti-Gravity Adjustable Recliner Chair, Dark Brown This is the most comfortable chair I have received for garden furniture in years. It molds to your body. I have the dark brown and champagne frame. Don't hesitate to purchase.
Anti-Gravity Chair. September 5, 2010 L. F. Evarts (Shelburne, VT, USA) It took delivery of two chairs to get one without defects. Amazon customer service was outstanding in taking care of my problem with the first chair, It failed to lock on one side.
The second chair works very well. The chair design is good, The packaging was poor. The chair is heavy to lug far but great when set up.
It would be nice to have a bag and shoulder strap to carry it in, but none was offered.
It is comfortable enough, but not made for outdoors September 3, 2010 Brie Danielle (Seattle, WA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I honestly would give this a 3-4 star rating as a chair and for comfort, except that I would not have bought it for the price I paid for it if I had known how quickly the color fades.
I've only had this chair for a month and a half, I paid over $82 for it, and the color was noticeably lighter after just one day on my covered deck.
I disregarded all the bad reviews that said it was not made for outdoors because it rusts, because I was to have it on my covered porch. But even the material they use for the seat is not weather proof, or even weather resistant. It was noticeably lighter the second day I had it, and now it is probably about 1/3 less colored than it was a MONTH AND A HALF ago. Not okay.
I am afraid to see what the color will be by next summer. There is absolutely NO excuse for it not to be sun and rain proof or at least resistant. It is, afterall, an OUTDOOR CHAIR! It's not as though it can be painted once the color has faded too much.
I am so disappointed. I drooled over this chair for a year, but am unemployed, so I did not buy it. When summer came around, I caved and finally bought it, even though I could not afford it.
It is pretty and comfortable, and I don't want to return it. What I want is for it to be a quality chair, and it just isn't.
I'm not yet sorry I bought it, but I am devastated that it isn't what it claims to be, what it's supposed to be. I sort of feel like it's only made for one season, and for the price I paid, they should just send me a new one every year to compensate for the fact that they don't find it necessary to use quality materials. Knowing what I know now, I would value this chair at around $20 - $30. Unless they start using better quality materials, that is the price they should reduce this chair to.
Comfy, but pretty scratched up...horrible packaging August 28, 2010 JPH I bought this chair for my pregnant wife to take on our lake vacation as there are no comfortable chairs at the place we stay. It arrived in a box barely larger than the folded chair and there was absolutely no packaging material in the box. The chair tubing was scuffed up and scratched pretty much everywhere, but it was still functional. I'm not convinced that the scratched were even from shipping given the location of some of them, which makes me think the chairs are coming from the manufacturer this way. At any rate, we were leaving in a couple days, so we couldn't return it and really just had to deal with it...like I said, it was still functional. So, we got to the cabin and set the chair up and it is very comfortable...my wife really liked it.
I have mixed feelings about this chair because it's very comfortable and is actually a really nicely constructed chair. The only problem is the scratches and scuffs really detract from how nice the chair really is. If you're looking for a nice, sturdy, comfortable chair and don't care too much about cosmetic appearance, then this is for you. I wouldn't recommend this chair if you are looking for something with a nice finish.
Great Items, Poor shipping speed August 22, 2010 Snortimer The item arrived in good condition and was a present, The person who got it loved it, but they took 3 days to ship it rendering the extra money I paid to have it shipped 2-day delivery useless.
