3 out of 5 stars It's Pretty but Small   June 6, 2010
W. Byrd (Concord, NC)
This is a pretty hammock which is why I bought it. I should have paid more attention to the size however. It is shorter than the average rope-woven ones. We had to go buy additional chain lengths to make it hang low enough to the ground so that my mother could get in it. It is also very thin material and the wood parts don't appear to be very strong. I feel certain this will be a 'one season' hammock as it just doesn't seem to be made to be very durable.
Oh, and the pillow in the picture is just for looks; it does not come with it.

2 out of 5 stars very small and questionable quality   May 2, 2010

i discovered there are different sizes of hammocks. i have a large stand and this is a tiny hammock.
the colors were pretty. the material was fine. felt like cotton, but it was a mix.
the wooden stretcher was left unstained and unprotected so i imagine it would get a little rough with time.
the stitching was unacceptable. looked like the sewing machine malfunctioned, but the factory worker (hopefully, an adult), just kept on sewing. the seams were jagged and ugly. i think mine was a fluke since no one else has complained about this issue.
i returned mine for a larger hammock in a different brand.

5 out of 5 stars Single hammock   April 26, 2010

My husband wanted a hammock to use on our screened in porch and chose this. The fabric is great, and the colors are wonderful and bright. The only thing missing is the pillow which wasn't available. He loves it and uses it quite often. He also likes the fact that it is easy to put up and take down as needed and doesn't take up space like the ones attached to a frame. It is definitely a "keeping hubby happy" purchase that worked!

4 out of 5 stars what a pleasant nap!   March 13, 2010

This hammock is definitely cotton, and unlike nylon, which disappears when touched with a lit cigar, this hammock has held up well. The fabric is breathable for all but the hottest days and is best left in the shade if you want it to last more than one season. The spreader bars are stout and work well, the finer weaves of Central America are more comfortable to lay on, but this style is good also. You will find it more stable than the latter for 'newbies' to hammock life. It will require some thought about hanging it and getting the appropriate ropes and hardware if what is provided turns out not to be adequate. This is a single size unit and weight recommendations are to be 'heeded'. Also, if you are the 6'6" or above range I would find a little longer unit. Not recommended for older folks(70-80) and children with sharp instruments. Everyone else should love it. My wife says the colors are great, but I would think that is a subjective consideration.

Very disappointed with this hammock....it was skimpy and did not have any hanging material. I want my money back. How am I supposed to return it if I have to pay for shipping. Its a ripoff
