We purchased this product last summer to help cool down our west facing living room area... we have a west facing deck off our living room, with French doors which get extremely hot from June to Sept every year. We hung this shade just outside the doors and it keeps the inside area MUCH cooler and more comfortable, especially with small children. It rolls up nice and tight when not in use, and when in use air/wind easily breathe through the fabric.

The fabric is quite acceptable. It does exactly as is represented. However, the design needs much improvement. With the least amount of wind, i.e., breeze, the shade will not properly roll up. Also, the straps holding the pole in place (at the bottom of the shade) easily slip off. The shade and the pole are then free to do as they please; in my case, the pole fell to the ground, and the shade flapped in the breeeze. The pole however, is quite capable of smashing into anything within reach. A fine product for a zero wind area.
